The Silo Hotel is a magical space towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City. Above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), The Silo Hotel showcases the very best of Cape Town’s art, cuisine and culture, transforming Cape Town’s skyline and inspiring a new standard in luxury travel.
Accommodation
The Silo Hotel offers just 28 rooms across seven room categories, each immaculately and individually decorated by the stylish wand of Liz Biden. The extraordinary pillowed glass windows provide a perspective of Cape Town quite unlike any other – from Table Mountain to Robben Island the views are unsurpassed.
The Willaston Bar
Situated on the sixth floor of the hotel, The Willaston Bar is named after the first ship to export grain from the original silo complex back in 1924. With stunning views of Cape Town through the 5,5m high pillowed glass windows, there is no better place to enjoy a classic cocktail or a glass of wine from the carefully crafted and ever evolving list of local and international wines. No reservations are required in The Willaston Bar Formal dining as well as more informal services such as an enticing raw bar serving wonderful carpaccios, tartars, crudités and ceviches.
The food inherits a glamourous, eclectic and contemporary feel while at the same time offering something authentic – classics are done properly without any artistic spin. We hope to bring an element of theatre to the dining experience with our beautifully hand-crafted champagne and cheese trolleys. Guests can look forward to approachable, contemporary comfort food including aromatic curries served in beautiful tiffin boxes. Afternoon tea every day is served daily, allowing guests to enjoy a delicate selection of sweet and savoury treats, including beautiful petit gateauxs, butter milk scones and clotted cream, served on a contemporary étagère at the copper topped tables of the Granary Café.
The Granary Cafe
The menu inherits the same comfortable, eclectic and contemporary style as Liz Biden’s hotel interiors. Theatrical elements including the Champagne and Carving trolleys are part of the relaxed sixth floor dining experience. Reservations are required
