Overview of Agama River Lodge and Camp is situated on the floor of a valley, around a dry riverbed, where delightfully shaded campsites offer superb facilities and splendid views of the Naukluft Mountains to the east. The recent addition of comfortable, air-conditioned rustic style chalets has widened the appeal of the Lodge to those seeking comfort and amenities. The design of the chalets also offers Guests the unique option of sleeping under the stars of the Namib sky in the privacy of their own rooftop. This roof also serves as a viewing platform for watching the sun’s rays outline the Naukluft Mountains at dawn and perform their magical light show at the end of every stunning desert day.

 

Location

Agama River Lodge & Camp is located just off the C19 road between Solitaire and Sesriem. The best way to get there is to select your route to one or other of these places,
then: – From Solitaire: drive south along the C19 for 34 km and you will find Agama River Lodge on the eastern (left) side of the road.
From Sesriem: drive north along the C19 for 48 km, then Agama is on the eastern (right) side of the road.

 

Accommodation

Rooms: 10 Chalets • 8 Campsites • 1 Guide Room

• Ten Chalets built in rustic style on the upper banks of the Dieprivier river course. Inside they are equipped to offer guests everything they need during their stay.
• One Family Unit comprises two adjacent Chalets with an interconnecting door.
• The remaining eight Chalets are well separated from each other for privacy.
• All Chalets have two 3/4 size beds, side tables, lamps, air conditioning and fan, small desk, and spacious en-suite shower facilities with separate toilet. There’s a verandah with chairs and the solid roof for a night under the stars.
• Eight Campsites are situated along the river course, away from the Chalets. Each is terraced and shaded by large Acacia trees, with privacy provided by a wooden paling fence.
• All Campsites are equipped with water, washing-up facility and a braai (barbecue). The separate male and female ablution facilities are spotlessly clean. Hot water is provided at sunset.
